Quick drop
Quick drop is a small floating capture field you can summon from any app, without switching to Braindrop.

Open it
Press ⌘⌥B from anywhere, or click the Braindrop icon in the menu bar. The field opens focused and ready to type — whatever app you were in stays frontmost.
The panel remembers where you last dragged it and reopens there. The first time you ever open it, it centers on screen.
Capture
Type your thought and press Return to save it and close the panel. Shift+Return inserts a newline. The same 4–900 character rule applies as the main window; invalid content shows an inline message and keeps the panel open so you can fix it.
Esc, or clicking outside the panel, closes it without saving.
Every quick drop lands at the bottom of your active Braindrops list, exactly like one captured in the main window.
Change the shortcut
The keyboard shortcut is set in Settings and is specific to this Mac — it doesn’t sync to your other devices.
